Oathsworn: Compact
Every age leaves behind ruins.
Ours left behind promises.
The Promise
Oathsworn: Compact is a tactical role-playing game where fallen defenders are not resurrected.
They are recognized.
Every ally carries an oath. Every battle asks what that oath is still worth.
The Compact does not ask what power you possess. It asks what promise you will still recognize when the world has forgotten it.
Why Compact?
A vow ends when it is fulfilled.
A contract ends when its terms are satisfied.
A compact expects tomorrow.
It survives the people who first carried it.
How It Lives
Every party is more than a collection of heroes.
Shared sigils create resonance.
Shared convictions create possibility.
Victory comes from understanding how oaths reinforce one another.
In battle, you prepare the party's actions and choose the order in which they answer. The Codex follows one player phase, from recovering an ally's action to carrying a chain.
Attunement
New allies are discovered through Attunement.
Each Oath Prism carries the preserved conviction of a fallen defender.
Each once stood between the world and its ending.
Every new ally is another promise remembered.
The First Compact
The first Compact has not yet been witnessed.
These chambers preserve the world and explain its systems. Public release notices belong to the Raven.
The Archive remembers.
